Head coach Hodgson expressed his feelings ahead of the return match.
Manager Roy Hodgson returned to the Premier League on March 22 (Korean time), taking over the leadership of Crystal Palace as the successor to Patrick Vieira.
Hodgson, 75, who was on a break after finishing Watford coaching in 2022, will continue his coaching life at Palace, which he led for four years from 2017 to 2021.
Hodgson is the oldest manager in Premier League history. He is also four years behind second-placed Bobby Robson and former coach Alex Ferguson.
When he left Crystal Palace in 2021 and Watford in 2022, many assumed he would retire from football. Nonetheless, Hodgson once again took up the challenge as a Premier League manager.

He continued, “People told me that I was retired, so I accepted it. When I walked down the street, people asked me, ‘Are you enjoying your retirement?’ But at the same time, I didn’t feel like I was old enough to retire.” As long as it’s open, the door is always open,” he said, explaining why he returned.
Hodgson started his coaching career in 1976 and has a career in directing more than 20 teams, including Inter Milan, Fulham, Liverpool, West Bromwich, England national team, Crystal Palace, and Watford.
