Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) President Gianni Infantino visited the Fan Festival in Sydney, Australia, where he watched the quarterfinal match between hosts Australia and France with fans.

The Fan Festival has become a signature fan mecca for the tournament, with more than 500,000 fans visiting since the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia-New Zealand kicked off last month. This is the first time a Fan Festival has been held at a Women’s World Cup.

Infantino said: 꽁머니 “It’s an honor to be here at the FIFA Fan Festival in Sydney. The atmosphere is beautiful and I’m happy to see all the fans enjoying this, the best Women’s World Cup ever,” said Infantino. “It’s great to see fans enjoying the festival and seeing the beautiful game bring everyone together, proving that #FootballUnitesTheWorld!” he added.

Infantino also thanked the tournament volunteers. “Their smiles are the smiles of the World Cup, the smiles of the world. The volunteers everywhere – at fan festivals and stadiums, in cities and airports – were extraordinary. A big thank you goes out to them.”

Meanwhile, Infantino’s involvement with the 2022 World Cup has been extensive, following the last World Cup in Qatar. He was an active participant at the World Cup in Qatar, traveling to all 64 matches.
