Incheon United and FC Seoul were unable to draw in their second meeting of the season.
Incheon and Seoul played to a 1-1 draw after exchanging a goal apiece in the 17th round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 at the Incheon Football Stadium on July 7. With 28 points, Seoul moved ahead of Jeju United on goal difference into third place. Incheon (19 points) leapfrogged Suwon FC (18 points) for ninth place.
Incheon brought out the same lineup as the previous match against Daejeon Hana Citizens (3-1 win). With Mpoku up front as a “false nine,” Incheon played a very simple offense. In defense, they switched to a five-back to form a solid defensive line, and in the midfield, Lee Myung-joo and Moon Ji-hwan quickly spread the ball into the space on either flank when they got the ball.
