Manchester City (Man City) is cracking down at home.
“City have no intention of selling both Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva in this summer’s transfer window,” global media outlet The Athletic reported on Sunday.
City’s performance last season was satisfactory. Not only did they finally win their long-awaited Champions League title, but they also won the Premier League and FA Cup, completing a triple treble.
However, after their triumph, City began to worry about a power leak. Immediately after their triumphant season, they were inundated with offers from other clubs.
There is no shortage of players who have been linked with transfers. Everyone from Mahrez to Silva to Joao Cancelo to Kyle Walker to Julian Alvarez to Aymeric Laporte has been linked with a move away from City.
Of these, Mahrez is considered the most likely to leave. Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli have reportedly reached a personal agreement with Mahrez on a deal that would see him triple his salary.
“Mahrez is contracted to City until 2025,” the outlet said. City will only allow him to leave if the right offer comes in.” 메이저사이트
A move for Silva cannot be ruled out. Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), and Al-Hilal are among the clubs that have been linked with a move for Silva. All three clubs are in the running for his signature.
The situation is not lost on City. According to reports, City are aware of the potential departures of both Mahrez and Silva and have made it a policy to only allow one of them to leave this summer.
“The coaching staff and hierarchy at City will have the final say. They will carefully consider the impact of losing either Mahrez or Silva on the team.”
