Gyeongnam FC earned a thrilling 2-1 win at home against Chungnam Asan FC in the 17th round of the Hana OneQ K League 2 2023 at the Changwon Football Center in Gyeongnam on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. thanks to a dramatic goal from Won Ki-jong in the 44th minute.

Just 20 seconds into the first half, Gyeongnam’s Won Ki-jong broke free on a solo dribble on the left and his unexpected run left the Asan defense helpless. After quickly reaching the left side of the box, Won Ki-jong faked a right-footed shot and fired a left-footed shot that hit the crossbar. Mo Jae-hyun took a second shot on the rebound, but it was blocked in front of Asan goalkeeper Park Han-geun. However, the home Changwon Football Center came alive with football fever within 20 seconds.

Gyeongnam converted this into a goal in the third minute of the first half. After Gleason’s breakthrough from the right side, Won Ki-jong made a diving header in the box, and although the goalkeeper blocked it, Won Ki-jong’s quick reflexes allowed him to get a foot on the ball even when he fell over and score the first goal.

After conceding the first goal, Asan pushed hard for the equalizer. They pressed hard and harshly from a high position to prevent Gyeongnam from building up from the goalkeeper. As a result, Gyeongnam made mistakes in the buildup and came close to conceding a goal.

In particular, Asan stole the ball in the 33rd minute when Gyeongnam was building up from the back, after striker Park Min-seo’s right-footed mid-range shot from the center-left spot, about 25 meters from the goal, was caught in front of the goalkeeper, and Park Min-seo took another right-footed curling shot from the same position, but it floated over the crossbar.

In the first half, Gyeongnam scored one goal with five shots and four on target, while Asan was evenly matched with eight shots and three on target.

In the fourth minute of the second half, Asan finally scored the equalizer. Asan’s left fullback Kim Sung-joo sent a left-footed early cross from the left side, and Kim Seung-ho, who held the ball with chest trapping at the center end of the box, fired a left-footed half-volley to split the Gyeongnam goal.

In the eighth minute of the second half, Asan threatened to pull a goal back. Lee Ho-in’s header from a left corner kick hit the crossbar after hitting the Gyeongnam defense, and Park Min-seo shot again to score a goal, but the goal was canceled due to a foul call after VAR review. 메이저놀이터

In the 16th minute of the second half, Asan continued to push for the upset, as Kim Kang-guk’s right-footed shot was saved by goalkeeper Ko Dong-min after a cutback pass from the right side.

Gyeongnam was also disappointed in the 23rd minute of the second half when Mi-ran Jing-ya, a substitute, sent in a cross from the right, but her header went straight at Park Han-geun. Gyeongnam immediately followed up with a buildup in the back after losing the ball in defense, but lost the ball here and Asan’s Duarte fired a left-footed curling shot from near the center-right box, but was denied by a tremendous save from goalkeeper Ko Dong-min. The Asan bench was convinced of a goal when they saw the trajectory of the ball as it curled in, but were frustrated by Go’s save.

Gyeongnam also failed to add to their lead in the 26th minute when Won Ki-jong’s high strike from a corner kick on the right side of the box went just wide of the goal.

With the score tied at 1-1, both teams began to make more jokers in the middle of the second half, and in the 29th minute, Gyeongnam came up short when Won Kijong’s left-footed shot from inside the box after receiving a pass from Miran Jingya on a counterattack opportunity hit the side netting.

In the 44th minute of the second half, in a Gyeongnam attack, Seol Hyun-jin sent in a low cross from the left side, and Won Ki-jong flew in front of the keeper and put his foot on it to score a dramatic goal.
