Son Heung-min has ruled out a move to Saudi Arabia.
Jürgen Klinsmann’s South Korea national team played El Salvador to a 1-1 draw in the Hana Bank Invitational A Match Trial at the Daejeon World Cup Stadium at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
South Korea’s first win under Klinsmann was delayed as they were unable to overpower El Salvador.
The big question was whether Son Heung-min would play. He underwent sports hernia surgery in England shortly after the season and was not at full fitness, so he did not appear against Peru.
However, he recovered quickly and took the field in the 23rd minute against El Salvador in place of Hwang Hee-chan.
Heung-min was tied for eighth place with Ki Sung-yueng for the most A-match appearances with 110, but his appearance against El Salvador brought his tally to 111.
With this appearance, Heung-min passed Ki Sung-yueng for eighth place on the list of most A-match appearances.Heung-min said, “It hasn’t been a long time since the surgery. I’m still scared because it’s been eight or nine months since the surgery. If I rest well, I think I’ll be back to 100%,” he said of his participation in the match against El Salvador.
Son Heung-min was recently linked to a move to Saudi Arabia by overseas media. The details were specific. 메이저놀이터
According to global sports outlet ESPN, Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad are ready to pay a transfer fee of 60 million euros (approximately $94 billion) to sign Son Heung-min.
Al Ittihad will reportedly offer Son a four-year contract worth €30 million ($42 billion) per year.
The Saudi league is a popular place for superstars to finish their careers. The level of play is better than ever and the paychecks are huge.
The league has done just that with Cristiano Ronaldo, and more recently with Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.
Oil-money backed Saudi Arabian league side Al Ittihad are reportedly eyeing Tottenham superstar Son Heung-min.
It’s no wonder they’re interested in Son. He has the makings of a superstar.
Heung-min joined Tottenham in the summer of 2015 from Leverkusen. His debut season had its ups and downs as he struggled to adapt, but he quickly shook it off and became a key resource.
Even as Tottenham’s managerial staff changed, Son’s place in the team remained firm and he was always a central figure.
His presence continued to grow, and last season he became the first Asian player to score 23 goals in the EPL.
He has become an integral part of Tottenham’s core as he continues to make his presence felt with incredible performances each season.
However, Heung-min has no intention of moving to Saudi Arabia. He wants to stay in the English Premier League (EPL).
“I’m not ready for the Saudi league yet. I like the EPL. I still have a lot of work to do,” he said, denying transfer rumors.
“My brother (Ki Sung-yong) once told me that a national team captain doesn’t go to China. It’s better to play in your favorite league than money,” he said.
“I think Tottenham fans will be happy. I have a lot of homework to do in the EPL. I will come back and prepare well,” he concluded.
