Ulsan Hyundai striker Lee Min-kyu has won the June K League Baseball Goal of the Month award.
Sponsored by Dongwon F&B, the Goal of the Month is awarded to the player who scores the most impressive goal of the month. Two nominees are selected and the winner is determined by 100% of fan votes through the K League membership application ‘Kick’.
The June Goal of the Month was based on four matches from rounds 16-19 of the K League 1, and the nominees were Lee In-gyu and Willian (Seoul).
Against Jeju in the 18th round, Lee In-jong-kyu rattled the net with a sensational right-footed turner in the 25th minute after trapping Bako’s cross. In the Super Match against Suwon in Round 19, Willian picked up the ball on the left flank and beat two defenders before finishing with a right-footed curling kick.
A total of 15,172 fans participated in the fan poll, which was held on Kick for three days from Monday, Oct. 10, to Wednesday, Oct. 12. As a result, Injongyu received 9,577 votes (63%) and Willian received 5,595 votes (37%), making Injongyu the winner of the June Goal.
His award ceremony will be held on Friday, June 21, at the Ulsan Munsu Stadium, where Ulsan and Jeju meet. At the ceremony, he will receive a trophy and a cash prize of 1 million won. 메이저놀이터
